Buyer Safety Tips
Before contacting or paying
- Verify the shop/seller identity, address and contact details.
- Confirm the exact product, model/specification, condition, quantity, final price, taxes and stock.
- Ask for a proper invoice/receipt and understand warranty, guarantee, return, refund and exchange terms.
- For high-value goods, inspect the product or use an appropriate verifiable process before payment where practical.
Payment safety
Prefer traceable payment methods and verify the recipient before authorising payment. Never disclose OTPs, UPI PINs, card PINs, passwords or remote-access credentials. Be cautious of requests to pay to unrelated personal accounts, unknown links/QR codes, unusual advance payments or pressure to act immediately.
Fraud and unsafe listings
Do not proceed where information is inconsistent, the offer appears unrealistically cheap, the seller refuses reasonable verification or the product may be illegal/unsafe. Preserve messages, payment records and screenshots. Report the listing to ShopKhojo and, where appropriate, promptly contact the relevant payment provider, police/cybercrime or consumer authority.
Platform role
ShopKhojo facilitates discovery and contact. Buyer safety guidance does not replace the seller's legal obligations or any statutory consumer rights.
National Consumer Helpline (Government of India)
If a consumer needs independent consumer-grievance assistance, the National Consumer Helpline (NCH), Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India, can be contacted at 1915 or 1800-11-4000 (8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, except national holidays). Consumers may also use WhatsApp/SMS at 8800001915 or register through the official NCH portal: consumerhelpline.gov.in. NCH is a Government of India pre-litigation consumer grievance mechanism and is independent of ShopKhojo. Approaching NCH does not remove any other remedy available under applicable law.
